Summer skirts

It’s safe to say I’m a big fan of skirts, I have more skirts than trousers in my wardrobe. I like them because they are very versatile and easy to use. Whether it’s an evening out or a casual day they work perfectly.

My personal favourite is the pencil skirt and preferably one the ends just below the knee. I like the shape and the feminine look it gives. Then the 50’s midi skirt is a perfect runner up.

This summer the maxi skirt is trending, or the midi with dipped hem. But also I have seen some pencil skirts with a nice split climbing up the trend ladder.

I do find it a little tricky to find that perfect length for, the trend has for a long time been very short and I personally don’t feel comfortable with this, I don’t like the worrying feeling of a gust of wind showing off my underwear…and well I don’t have model legs so.. But luckily the midi length seems to be coming back. (phew)

When wearing a maxi skirt if it’s a casual day I think a flat shoe is better as a heel makes it slightly more dressy. And with the pencil skirt to elongate those legs I would add a heel or a platform, but at this point I wouldn’t sow too much skin on the top.

Less is more.
